New November Recipes

This recipe called for 14 apples! or 11 Cups!! I don't know about you but I wasn't about to peel 14 apples. I bought 7 Granny Smith, ended up peeling them and only used 5. 5 was plenty! My favorite part is of course the crumb part. :]

New October Recipes

This month we made:

This bread was GOOD! I will definitely make this over and over in my lifetime!

I even had a little helper this time...

Cleaning Stove Burners

Have nasty grimy stove burners? So did I and I've always hating cleaning them! I still hate cleaning them this way but it is SOO much easier. I just cannot stand the smell of Ammonia! ICK!

I took one burner and put it into a large Ziploc bag and poured A LITTLE bit of Ammonia into it. I left it outside to soak on a baking sheet for 12 hours or more. I'd then just rinse it off. EASY. Warning though, expect STRONG fumes!

Mopping Floors

I used to just use Lysol to mop our floors but I've recently decided to be more green about our living. I wanted to go back to simpler things and things with less chemicals. Now I mostly clean with a squirt of dish soap, and a little vinegar (about 1/4 C) in hot water. Once a month I'll add 1/4 C baking soda. THIS CLEANS SO WELL!

Earring Holder

I originally had my earrings hanging from my hair tie/headband basket but I came across this idea..
Found the frame at a thrift store, the mesh backing at Home Depot and the flowers at a craft store.

The inspiration...

P.S. I Love You

My Husband and I leave one another notes on this. We'll then move it to their side of the bed. I LOVE my Husband's sweet thoughts. He's seriously the best! I couldn't ask for anything better. <3

Easy to make, frame, and a lined piece of paper. I've always loved handwritten notes and letters so the lined paper brings that feel to it.

Other versions:

Our Week Frame

Here's Our Week Frame.
Right now nothing is written on it except for breakfast! I stopped writing what was for dinner on it because I made a Menu board. I usually write down schedule of TV shows that the adults watch (we hardly watch TV and we (I) always forget what day the shows I've been waiting all year for are on) like Sons of Anarchy and The Walking Dead. I also write down doctor appointments, dentist appointments, birthdays, play dates, etc. The only downfall is not actually having enough space for a full length calendar. I always forget what day it is. So sometimes I even write the numbers of what that week has under the weekday. For example, Sunday is the 12th, Monday is the 13th etc. I purchased the frame at Walmart along with the scrap paper. I had the week stickers already on hand.

New September Recipes

These are delicious! I will make them whenever I'm craving fries from Mickey D's. Better for you in a way. I however will use half the sauce next time since my husband and I are the only ones who will eat it. The sauce by the way is a blend I'd never thought of before although, it tastes like a sauce I've had before at a restaurant. Can't remember the name though. :(

These are fun to make if you don't want to stand over a stove and pour mix for everyone you're trying to cook for. However, they're not as sweet as what I'm used to. Probably a good thing! I'm used to buying the prepackaged stuff so we'll see... Maybe add some brown sugar or something next time.

Homemade Pizza Rolls
These are definitely going on the Favorites list! They're so good! I'd recommend using flour on the surface of your cutting board. It helped tremendously!!

I LOVE me some cheesy shells! I can't get enough of Velveeta shells so I wanted to try this hoping it'd be a healthier alternative to the box kind. No preservatives or anything. Well, this will not be made in my house again. Not that it wasn't good... for my husband but I did not like the graininess of the texture! ICK! Not sure if that's normal and it doesn't look like it in the pic but just a heads up!

New August Recipes

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna
My Love really liked this, however I had a harder time eating it. Just not used to it over regular lasagna and trying to get used to spinach.

Caramel Cheesecake Apple Dip
If I'm going to have desert I want it to be somewhat healthy. :] This was A-MAZING!

Crowd-Pleasing Taco Salad
This is good! Could do without the Oregano though I think. The Taco sauce I used:

Chicken Rollups #2
These were INCREDIBLE! Definitely going on our Favorites list!

Cheesy Chicken and Rice Bake
This was really good. However, needs a little flavor... Maybe some chili powder, cayenne pepper, or the like.

3-2-1 Funfetti Cake Batter Dip
The boys didn't care too much for the dip. They just ate the cookies. The Hubs and I had to eat it. :] It tasted alright. Not too bad, actually.

Buffalo Chicken Garbage Bread (Pizza)
This was a bit spicy for me at first. However, it was good. The Hubs kept saying so. :]] Just a note for the cooking, I preheated our oven at 400 and cooked it for 20 min. It came out done and not overcooked.

Garlicky Mashed Potatoes
These tasted a little bland. Not sure if it's just because I'm not used to eating veggies or if it possibly could have been because I didn't use the 1/4-1/2 cup heavy cream or the 3 tablespoons buttermilk. Next time I'll try those two things. I just used 2% milk.

New July Recipes

I want to start trying a new recipes. About 4 a month.
I found this these recipes via Pinterest.

This is the recipe I chose this week. My Love doesn't like Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch so he didn't like this too much and the boys haven't wanted to try it out yet. Let's hope someone likes it besides me!

This was a hit with everyone except D. He has a thing for melted cheese. He hardly even eats pizza. (He just eats the crust) T even ate it. Warning: This recipe is a double batch. I froze the other half for another time.

These didn't last long in our house! They were that good. Again D doesn't like melted cheese so I made him some prior to cooking these. He liked them.

These didn't turn out right granted it was my first time with this recipe. Not sure, I followed the directions but think there may possibly be a typo? It just came out way too pasty, granulated, and dry. I added more milk but added too much so then they were runny. The boys didn't like them and I don't blame them. Lol I'll give it another shot but mess with the milk measurements some more.
