Tambourine

Items Needed:
corn kernals, dried beans, small pasta, cereal, and so on (we used beans)
2 paper plates (I would not recommend styrofoam but that's what we had on hand)
glue or staples (staples are easier but they tear the plate up)
hole punch
ribbon
crayons, markers, stickers for decoration

Decorate your plates first if you want. I found it to be easier. Place your chosen noise maker onto a plate then cover with the second. Staple or glue the rims together. Punch holes around the plates and add ribbon.

He kept saying cheese so I had to keep taking photos.

I LOVE D's face in this one!

Such a fun project. They entertained them for a few days which I wasn't expecting.

Growth Chart

Made my boys each their own growth chart. There's lots of ideas floating around Pinterest. I like the idea of ours being portable since we are in the military and all. Plus, I want my boys to be able to take theirs with them where ever they go.

Kiwi Crate: Farmer's Market

The first part of this package that D chose to do was My Colorful Harvest. We created stuffed fruits and vegetables.

Here are all the items: fruit and vegetable fabrics, laces, cotton balls, felt, pipe cleaners, and the stencil.

D loved the lacing part. It was so fun watching him do it and knowing that he's come along way. The laces were great because they looked just like shoelaces.

He said his favorite part was lacing but then when I asked him what his favorite part was while he was stuffing he said it was stuffing.

After stuffing them I tied them up and cut the laces.

I then cut out leaf shapes out of the felt and attached them with the pipe cleaners.

Here they are finished. The pear and apple.

The carrot and eggplant.

Put them in his basket so we can play Grocery Shopping. Once his apron (Part 2) is finished we'll practice taking turns being the customer and the seller.

Robot Rally: Part Two

Finally got to finish part two of our first Kiwi Crate. Here's part one called My bot buddy.

This part is called My a-mazing robot. It comes with a few items to make a robot out of metal and a magnetic wand. The point is to try to move your robot through the mazes provided. You can even draw one of your own.
Here's he coloring his robots arms...

Trying to move his robot...

The wand is under the cardboard.

Trying out the star one...

Can you see his robot's face??

So happy with his Kiwi Crate!

His cute little sticker that came with it.

What T does while we're at the table.

Chairs can entertain him for an hour! I wish I could jump inside his mind!

I had to add this pic... He loves to climb on my belly and a bounce him...

Earring Holder

I originally had my earrings hanging from my hair tie/headband basket but I came across this idea..
Found the frame at a thrift store, the mesh backing at Home Depot and the flowers at a craft store.

The inspiration...

P.S. I Love You

My Husband and I leave one another notes on this. We'll then move it to their side of the bed. I LOVE my Husband's sweet thoughts. He's seriously the best! I couldn't ask for anything better. <3

Easy to make, frame, and a lined piece of paper. I've always loved handwritten notes and letters so the lined paper brings that feel to it.

Other versions:

Our Week Frame

Here's Our Week Frame.
Right now nothing is written on it except for breakfast! I stopped writing what was for dinner on it because I made a Menu board. I usually write down schedule of TV shows that the adults watch (we hardly watch TV and we (I) always forget what day the shows I've been waiting all year for are on) like Sons of Anarchy and The Walking Dead. I also write down doctor appointments, dentist appointments, birthdays, play dates, etc. The only downfall is not actually having enough space for a full length calendar. I always forget what day it is. So sometimes I even write the numbers of what that week has under the weekday. For example, Sunday is the 12th, Monday is the 13th etc. I purchased the frame at Walmart along with the scrap paper. I had the week stickers already on hand.

Kiwi Crate: Robot Rally

Our First Kiwi Crate arrived last month! I know I'm behind... I've been trying to squeeze this activity in for a few weeks now! FINALLY! Our Kiwi Crate for this month should be arriving soon... I'm already excited. I'm excited for D also! They're specifically for him. Even come mailed in his name! How cute is that?

What it looks like packaged. Even sent us a pair of his own scissors!

Comes with two parts: one, my bot buddy and two, my a-mazing robot.

These 3 books provided us with the instructions for the 'My Bot Buddy' (part one), one that teaches about other robots and how to make a life size costume robot out of cardboard box, and the 'My A-mazing Robot' (part two). The Continue your robot rally booklet mentions other robots like Mars Rover, which is an exploration robot on Planet Mars that takes pictures and helps us learn about Mars. The robot's name is Curiosity. A factory welding robot, a building robot in car factories that helps build cars in an assembly line. Also Roomba, a cleaning robot in people's homes. It vacuums the floor. Pretty cool how they incorporated that info! I LOVE learning so I think I'm more excited about it than D?

The maze worksheets for part two of our robot rally crate.

Supply you with all you need! Even comes with the windup toy there in the gray at the bottom.

The instructions. How easy peasy!

He colored it how he wanted and I cut the shapes for him and he picked the gear stickers.

It's on the move! I'm not sure though, but I think he couldn't get enough of playing with the windup toy! Glad this was a hit! Now I'll have to post about the a-mazing robot part (part two) later. :]

Here's Part two. :]
