Highchair Fun

It has been raining the last couple days and I wanted to keep T busy so this came in handy today. D is off visiting his Gma Sharon in MN for her birthday and T isn't as occupied by Big Brother. :(

Items needed:
Lengths of string
Small toys

Just tie one end of string to a toy and tape the other end to the highchair. I used yarn because that's what we have on hand and it did the job. I also used masking tape but I'd probably use a stronger version of tape since he kept trying to rip the toys off the highchair. He wasn't quiet grasping the throwing the toys over the side bit but he played with the toys when ever I'd swing them over the edge and back up again.  I'm thinking about taping some plastic spoons on his highchair while I'm feeding him because he likes to throw those over. Then I won't have to keep picking them up, I can just hand them back over. :]

Frontroom Sleepover and Movie Party

Items needed:
Family
Movies (Bedtime Stories and Up picked out by D)
Treats (Peanut M&M's, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and Red Vines)

It turned out to be a lot of fun. Who knew how much fun a few blankets, pillows, and a treat would be? I've never seen the boys have so much fun before. They were all over the place!

New July Recipes

I want to start trying a new recipes. About 4 a month.
I found this these recipes via Pinterest.

This is the recipe I chose this week. My Love doesn't like Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch so he didn't like this too much and the boys haven't wanted to try it out yet. Let's hope someone likes it besides me!

This was a hit with everyone except D. He has a thing for melted cheese. He hardly even eats pizza. (He just eats the crust) T even ate it. Warning: This recipe is a double batch. I froze the other half for another time.

These didn't last long in our house! They were that good. Again D doesn't like melted cheese so I made him some prior to cooking these. He liked them.

These didn't turn out right granted it was my first time with this recipe. Not sure, I followed the directions but think there may possibly be a typo? It just came out way too pasty, granulated, and dry. I added more milk but added too much so then they were runny. The boys didn't like them and I don't blame them. Lol I'll give it another shot but mess with the milk measurements some more.

Splash Park

Something I've wanted to do with the boys this summer was to take them to the Splash Park. Since we've lived here I've wanted to take them but I just thought T was too little. Both boys love water so it turned out to be a lot fun! D has made lots of friends in Preschool but he always talks about a girl named Elizabeth, they're best friends they say. So we met up with April and her two little girls. They didn't play as much. :(

I just love how they play together. <3

Beach Day

One of the things I've been wanting to do with the fam this summer was go to the Beach! We went July 3rd and I think it was the most fun I've had. It was T's first trip and they both LOVE water. I thought T might be afraid of the ocean... Definitely NOT the case.

D surfin'. :]

4th of July

This year we had a BBQ with some friends we've made here in good ol' Twentynine Palms, California. I had so much fun! Half the food didn't get eaten which is still mind boggling. I mean, there were 6 Marines here! I really enjoyed everybody's company, Rochelle and Gavin, Rachel and Adam, Sutton, Roman, and Cpl D... The boys grilled the food and us girls just sat inside chatting away, getting to know each other better. Rochelle and I found out that we are so much a like. It's nice meeting  such good people and having a good time with everyone. Afterwards we went to Luckie Park and watched the fireworks. It was probably the best seat in the house! They were so close to us that D was getting scared. :( He thought they were going to land on him. T loved them. Nothing scares that boy. Except car washes...

A milestone to remember: T took his first steps!

Love the Pledge of Allegiance frame.

Utah Visit

My Love had one month leave following deployment so we decided to go back home to UT and visit all our loved ones. I know everyone was so happy to see him and we were happy to be back also. We stayed with Bampa Jeff and Yia Yia. We left the late evening of June 5th and arrived early morning of June 6th. We stayed until Sat June 16th and left right before Father's Day. We ended up celebrating Father's Day on Monday, June 18th.  It was a very busy visit for us this time around. We went to the Zoo, celebrated T's first birthday, had dinner dates, and lunch dates, visited with my Grandma and Cousin Shantel and her kids, We went to Meg's house, Wendy and Dan's house, Grandpa Bug's house, My Love went golfing with his brother and dad, went to Hunter's preschool graduation, and fed the ducks with my mom and the boys! That was one of the best trips to UT. I definitely miss everyone.
