Kiwi Crate: Farmer's Market

The first part of this package that D chose to do was My Colorful Harvest. We created stuffed fruits and vegetables.

Here are all the items: fruit and vegetable fabrics, laces, cotton balls, felt, pipe cleaners, and the stencil.

D loved the lacing part. It was so fun watching him do it and knowing that he's come along way. The laces were great because they looked just like shoelaces. 

He said his favorite part was lacing but then when I asked him what his favorite part was while he was stuffing he said it was stuffing. 

After stuffing them I tied them up and cut the laces.

I then cut out leaf shapes out of the felt and attached them with the pipe cleaners. 

Here they are finished. The pear and apple.

Put them in his basket so we can play Grocery Shopping. Once his apron (Part 2) is finished we'll practice taking turns being the customer and the seller. 

D's Soccer Photos

D finished up Soccer a little bit ago and he didn't have as much fun as I thought he would. On many occasions I had to talk him into going to practice. I think he just didn't like the structure of the meets. He just wanted to kick the ball. During pictures he wasn't too happy at first either. He wanted to run around with the other kids but it was time for our pictures. Man is he a Turkey sometimes!

Motivational Monday

Some things to always get me moving...

Arrowhead Lake

We were invited up to Arrowhead Lake, CA so we ventured up there. It reminds me of Park City, UT. The drive there was about an hour and a half and it was up in the mountains. The road ended up being really curvy, so much so that there were a few you had to take at 5 MPH. Anyway D has really bad motion sickness so just as we were pulling into the Hotel he vomited. :( Poor guy. He was ok after a bit to ride rides so I'm glad he had some fun. 

They loved the train ride. I liked that it wasn't crowded at all. Strange because it was during a time where a festival or something was going on. Venders were setting up tables and things.

This is the funniest part here. I wish I could post the video because D was having fun until he felt like it was getting too high. He's afraid of heights. It was doing like a boat motion, swinging back and forth. I couldn't help but bust up laughing. I felt bad afterward. 

CRACKING UP! They're like, "Really?"

Again, because D is afraid of heights he didn't want to attempt this one. T loved it. NOTHING scares this kid. EXCEPT car washes. 

After rides we ventured off to the lake and stuck our feet in. T on the other hand LOVES water so he wanted to attempt swimming!

Setting the Table

Items Needed:
Plates
Silverware
Napkins
Glasses

Have your child set the table for dinner using nonbreakable or plastic items. Make sure to have them set the table for the right amount of people that will be eating. Count out the same number of plates, knives, forks, spoons, and cups and then show them how to lay them out properly on the table. For younger kids you can have them set out silverware and napkins.

Nature Colors

Items Needed:
Plants and flowers
Crayons
Paper


Go on a nature walk and collect a variety of plants and flowers, such as grass, leaves, dandelions, etc. Spread out your collection and encourage them to draw a picture using only crayons in colors that match the items collected.

Thumbprint Mice

Items Needed:
Stamp pad
Paper
Crayons or markers

Press your thumb into a stamp pad and then onto the paper. Draw a mouse tail and ears on the print to make it look like a mouse. You can make several mice to look like a mouse family. Do your child's thumb and you can compare sizes.

Banana Bread!

This was my first attempt at making Banana Bread. I always loved Banana Bread growing up so I wanted to see if I could make some!
